Japanese Get Lost Odyssey Downloadable Content

by Eric Bush

In a move sure to unbalance the ecosystems, Microsoft is releasing exclusive, downloadable content for Lost Odyssey with one catch; as of now it has only been announced for Japan with no American release date anywhere. Famitsu magazine is reporting that the "single dungeon, single rare item, single boss battle" will cost 400 Microsoft Points and be available on April 10, 2008 through the Japanese marketplace. While none of this content sounds that exciting fans of Lost Odyssey are sure to want more game time with Lost Odyssey stateside, it sold well here right?

I highly doubt that making extra content will lure new custoemrs into buying the game. It's like if you don't like cheese a salesman is trying to sell you cheese you won'y buy it, but then he knocks on your door again offering you new kinds of cheese, You still won't buy any.....

Yeah but if the game sold 2 copies there and sold 10 000 here, would you prefer trying to push your 60$ game with a 5$ add on or hope of selling maybe 1000 add ons here ? ... Again , i don't think that this dungeon will help sell the game over there in Japan but for all I know, they could just be doing the Translation in English and will bring it out soon.

ravanah - If it did well in America and more people already have the game, wouldn't it make more sense to release it here? They be more likely to blow another $5 (400 points), I would expect. If 5 people bought it in Japan and 20 people bought it here, they would only potentially make $25 in Japan, but could make $100 here, ya know?
