This is where Bad Company’s single-player really grabbed us in ways other games have not done in recent times. The last thing that blew us out of the water was the way the title handled the destructible environments, something that seemed very secondary in the multiplayer portions we had played previously. When health is tight and the war is intense players will find themselves spending a lot more time thinking of ways to use this destructibility to their advantage. There were countless times when the end was near in sight, only to be saved by a crumbled building or fallen tree line. Everything about the graphics engine has been tightened up in the past couple months and the engine built for this game glamorizes what it has to offer the player, taking advantage of every bit of horsepower the Xbox 360 has to push out. The air strike we mentioned earlier is just one of many crafty new gadgets that DICE has tossed into the game with grenade style accuracy.

(During our time at EA we were also shown a brand new multiplayer map and it was easily double as good as the two shown in the beta. The map gave us more vehicles, more weapons, and more advantage points; along with tons of more shit to blow up and destroy. The “player upgrades” were really coming along nicely and will make a nice impact in gameplay for those gamers looking to put in the time needed to earn and unlock them all. If DICE can stick to it and iron out the little things Bad Company will shape up to be the complete single and multiplayer experience.)
As we were told our time with the single-player portion of the game was up and we were leaving EA studios the only thought going through our minds was that we wished we had more time with the game. There is so much more that we cannot wait to reveal in our full review of Bad Company but one thing is for certain; DICE and EA have done the impossible and taken a game known solely for it’s multiplayer portions and added one hell of a single-player game. The little we saw on the storyline looks good and we only have high hopes for what the entire solo campaign will offer gamers. With the price of game’s as high as they are now it is great to see developers doing as much as possible to make sure the customer get’s their dollars worth. Stay tuned to PlanetXbox360 for our full review when Bad Company ships to retail stores on June the 24th.
