Saint's Row DLC Neither Confirmed Nor Denied

THQ has made it clear that downloadable content packs are on the way, but they insist that widespread rumors of a September 15th release have been greatly exaggerated.  Luke Smith at 1up.com cornered a representative from the publisher and was told "We have extensive plans for downloadable content for Saints Row and will be announcing more information closer to the time the content will be made available. There will not be any content available on the 15th."

Denials notwithstanding, forums have been abuzz about a download pack that might include leather chaps, new tattoos, extra-special underpants AND a samurai helmet.  I have seen screenshots of said helmet, and though I can't confirm the authenticity, I can confirm its absurd awesomeness.

Some fans are understandably demanding meatier DLC, including vehicles or weapons.  I'll admit that in the world of street toughs weapons and vehicles might get you further than leather chaps, but to each his own.

No cost has been confirmed for Saint's Row downloadable content, when it finally hits XBL.  At least one forum poster claims to have picked up the new content at a EB Games/Gamestop kiosk, for the excellent price of free.  I sense many kiosk-hunt mall visits in some of your futures.
