Mass Effect Finally Confirmed for Q1 2007

A year after their game was first previewed, Canadian developer Bioware has come forward with an official launch window for the sci-fi action RPG.  This comes as a surprise to almost no one, as rumors of a 2007 release have been circulating for some time.

A game trailer has been available on Xbox Live for a few months, and the game has been much-hyped in the blogosphere, even being called "best 360 game" by a webzine.  I'm not 100% sure how a game yet to be playable can already be called "best", but the excitement about it appears widespread.

Luckily not a delayed release, Mass Effect will join many Xbox 360 titles in vying for your post-holiday cash.  (maybe post-valentine's day, but I'm not complaining.)
