"Famous action movie star Bruce Willis is negotiating to star in “Kane and Lynch,” Liongate’s adaptation of the popular video game “Kane and Lynch: Dead Men.”
Thanks Lauren for the awesome tip!
The game, published last year by Eidos Interactive, was a hit and sold two million copies across the world since its release in November. It can be bought on three formats, Games For Windows, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
The movie will be the feature directing debut of Simon Crane, who has previously served as second unit director and stunt coordinator on films such as “Hancock,” “Troy,” “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” and “X-Men: The Last Stand.”
If Willis agrees to star in the movie, he will play Adam “Kane” Marcus, death row inmate who, along with a schizophrenic killer named Lynch, sets on a mission to retrieve a stolen microchip, which is worth a fortune. The game’s website describes Kane as “an experienced mercenary with everything to lose” and Lynch as “an unpredictable psychopath with everything to gain.” The two are thrown together in a strange alliance, but “hate each other every step of the way.”
The script was written by Kyle Ward and filmmakers are now looking for an actor to play Lynch. The movie’s shooting will begin before year’s end, Variety reports. The producers are Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter, along with Jason Blumenthal and Todd Black and the Willis Brothers Co.
Crane is currently working with Willis as the stunt coordinator on “The Surrogates,” which Jonathan Mostow is directing for Disney."
