SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - June 5, 2008 - At an exclusive launch party to celebrate the highly anticipated release of Codemasters' all-new racing game GRID, finalists of the GRID Racing Game Demo Challenge competed for the chance to win the eBay Motors Muscle Series Mustang. Codemasters and eBay Inc.'s eBay Motors marketplace awarded Timothy Blount with the keys to the one-of-a-kind Mustang.
Based on one of the coolest concept cars ever introduced to the market, the eBay Motors Muscle Series Mustang is a Ford Mustang GT-R that was built and modified to feature a complete custom body kit including a supercharged engine with 445HP, a race inspired side ported exhaust system, 20" GTR concept wheels, and a six stage custom pearl paint job, complete with eBay Motors' graphics.
In May, Codemasters and eBay Motors launched the GRID Game Demo Challenge to support the upcoming launch of Codemasters' groundbreaking new video game, GRID. The challenge featured an online downloadable demo of GRID that showcased a special eBay Motors Muscle Series track. Players had four weeks to compete for the fastest lap time on this track for the chance to win an all-expense paid trip to the GRID launch party in San Francisco, and a chance to win the supped-up eBay Motors Muscle Series Mustang.
"With more than two million demo downloads since we launched the GRID Racing Game Demo Challenge, Timothy Blount competed against the strongest gamers in the country to win the eBay Motors Muscle Series Mustang," said Dave Miller, vice president of marketing, Codemasters. "The game's high review scores, and the tremendous popularity of this contest are evidence that Codemasters has put the fun back into the racing genre. We congratulate Timothy Blount, his racing prowess not only put him ahead of his opponents, but into the driver's seat of a brand new Mustang."
