    Sega's Beijing 2008 Pole-Vaults onto Store Shelves Today

    San Francisco, CA - July 8, 2008 – SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced that Beijing 2008™ - The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games has shipped to retailers in North America for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system and the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. The Windows based PC version of the game will ship later in July. Beijing 2008™ is graced by cover athletes and top U.S. gold medal contenders Amanda Beard, Tyson Gay, Nastia Liukin and Reese Hoffa. Each cover athlete represents the best America has to offer as Team USA heads to Beijing to compete in the XXIV Olympiad.

    Beijing 2008™ features realistic next-gen visuals and will provide players with the most authentic simulation of any Olympic video game to-date. With over 35 events from the upcoming Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, gamers will have the opportunity to compete in, and get an early look at many of the official venues. The online functionality of all three platforms will ensure that-for the very first time - fans of the Olympic Games will be able to experience the thrill of competing against other gamers across the globe in the world’s greatest sporting event. The game will also incorporate innovative control schemes that allow novice gamers to learn how to play the game, while providing experienced gamers the chance to set new records.

    Beijing 2008™ is developed by Eurocom Entertainment Software and is rated “E” for Everyone by the ESRB. The game is available now at retail stores across North America and carries an MSRP of $49.95 on Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 and $29.95 on PC. Beijing 2008™ and Sonic at the Olympic Games™ for the mobile phones are also now available for download from most major wireless carriers in North America and through Bell Mobility in Canada.
