For those who have played the original Xbox version, there are a few other additions to the 360 title. There are five to seven new missions to play through, but the biggest addition will be the Xbox Live Achievements and Leaderboards. The game is worth at least one play through to earn all the Achievements to boost your GamerScore, and there are over forty to get, so that will take you some time – in fact around twenty hours if you want to complete everything that the game has to offer. Sadly there is no multiplayer mode in sight.
Final Word
EA has taken one of the best cinematic films to be released and created a decent video game with it. Does it live up to its potential though? That’s a hard question to answer since the film is legendary and to some, the video game will end up being on the mediocre side, especially if they have had their fair share of Grand Theft Auto/Saints Row already. I wanted to love this as much as I could and I never played the original Xbox version, but The Godfather could have been built from the ground up for the Xbox 360 at least. This next generation iteration is basically a HD version of the game with a few tweaks to fix previous mistakes, luckily however the strong gameplay is still there to make up for some of the let downs.
