LEGO Star Wars II Demo Lands on XBL

    by Nelson Rodriguez

Those of us who like to download demos from the Xbox Live Marketplace have finally found a week we can brag about, this time with a demo of the latest buildable George Lucas epic.  The download is available right now, and will keep you busy for a while.

An amazing thing about this demo is that you can actually unlock characters that you can carry with you into the full version of the game, if and when you buy it.  Three unlockable characters appear as you build up the coinage in the game, and are presented with a code you can use later.

Of course, the code will surely be all over the internet by now, but if you value the work ethic, you'll sweat your way through the demo for the feeling of pride you get when you earn something.  I hate the work ethic, but I still love the idea of getting a full version bonus by playing through a demo.

We noticed some camera problems when playing the demo in 2 player mode, and the game froze as soon as we unlocked the first character.  Not sure if the freezing problem extends to the retail version, but even with the hassle, the demo is a blast.
