Get Ready for "Halo Wars"by Nelson Rodriguez
Microsoft has put all the rumors to rest by announcing that a Real Time Strategy game, titled "Halo Wars" is headed to the Xbox 360. Halo fans who can't shoot straight are about to get their moment in the sun. The game is being developed by Ensemble Studios, the makers of Age of Empires.
When Bungie sent a nasty lawyer letter to the non-profit team who had built a Halo themed RTS named Halogen, it got people to speculating that there must be a bona fide Halo RTS on the way. The pundits were right. The game puts you in control of the United Nations Space Command troops, as they duke it out against the Covenant.
Interestingly, the announcement indicates that the game will be a 360 exclusive, implying that it will not be released on the natural format for RTS games, the PC. Strategy games can be tough to play without a keyboard and mouse, but we're sure they've got some ideas as to how to deal with that issue. Bungie and Microsoft have made a couple decent games before, so I trust them.

Way to be on top of things, Nelson, as this was just released and I can running to PX360 only to be beaten, prfousely, by you.
Anyway, uhm, I am not a big RTS enthusiast anymore (save for Civ 4), but this is very interesting to say the least. |
