Start growing your hair out now, because Dark Zero is reporting that developer Red Octane has made an official announcement at X06 today that the latest version of Guitar Hero will be coming to your 360. The game will be optimized for the 360, and will feature downloadable content and a brand new controller.
The X-Plorer guitar controller and the new game will be previewed this week at the expo in Barcelona, Spain. Dusty Welch, head of publishing for Red Octane feels the 360 is perfectly suited to Guitar Hero and said "Xbox 360 provides an incredible platform for facilitating downloadable content. We believe there is no better title to feature micro-transactions than a music game like Guitar Hero II, where the content is the basis of your experience. The relationship with the Xbox Live Marketplace creates endless possibilities for exclusive content."
You will soon get your chance to play rhythm, bass or lead guitar in front of your Microsoft console. The PS2 version is slated for a November 7th release, but no date for the Xbox 360 version was mentioned.
A photo of the actual 360 version controller is pictured below. I hope they resolve their lawsuit issue with the makers of the wireless guitar controller, because when I get my rock on, I don't want to be chained down, man.
