Microsoft has dismissed reports that it's planning to use Sony's PS3 virtual world Home to host business meetings. "Microsoft will not be using Home as a tool for virtual meetings," the company told CVG following a recent report to the contrary.

Last week GAAP claimed MS would be one of a number of big companies using Home for meetings in a bid to reduce costs and carbon emissions, but according to the platform holder it's perfectly capable of staging its own virtual bashes.
"With fantastic Microsoft-developed products and applications like Live Meeting and even Xbox Live Party, we have everything we need to host a virtual meeting in-house," it said. Most gamers were sceptical about the original report, and clearly with good reason.
