Me? I am most excited about seeing how the controls will turn out. Not many RTS games (there aren't even that many RTS games for the xbox 360) have been able to nail the controls pat down, I'm hoping that Halo Wars has found a sweet spot and will deliver with great controls. The circle menu is probably the system that makes this game simple yet fun, you can quickly choose what you want to train (marines, warthogs, etc) or choose an ability and quickly get straight back to the battle. I'm also super excited about being able to control large flying vehicles such as pelicans, in the past Halos I always wanted to be able to fly one into a large battle, but bungie never delivered and now Ensemble is :). I'm also excited about the storyline, I've never read any of the Halo books that go back before the Halo trilogy, so hopefully this game can summarize all those books into one great rts game. What strikes me in awe is that this game has base building but does not totally focus on it, so we are enabled the luxury of customizing our bases, but to an extent. I'm suprised at how well Ensemble did the graphics, they look so smooth and fluid and look better than any RTS out on the consoles so far. Thanks for reading my submission :) |

Personally, I'm really interested in all of the Halo games. I didn't get the original Halo untill close to Halo 2's release, but once I started playing I was hooked. Halo Wars, I'm kind of iffy on. I'm wondering whether or not I should buy this game, considering that it isn't really 'Halo' in the FPS sense, so getting it a bit early would probably help me to decide. I have been a long time Halo fan. I have read the Halo novels, played all 3 Halo games and have downloaded every expansion possible.
Back before the launch of xbox live I used to host weekly xbox/Halo nights where I supplied 2 origianl xbox's and 4 TV's and on a weekly basis I would have anywheres between 8 - 24 people over the house and and some would bring there own xbox & controllers so that we could all play and it was common for there to be plenty of people waiting for there turn to play.
I'm a die hard Halo fan and as well also a RTS fan but thus far only for the PC (haven't played any RTS games on the xbox)but this game I have been long waiting for and i believe having been designed for the xbox360 from the ground up, will make the long wait all worth while.
I can't tell you enough how much I love the whole Halo universe, hell, I even have Halo comic books, posters and the Master Chief's helmet in my cubicle at work!
