GamesIndustry.biz got word from analyst Michael Pachter that he expects "The Lost and the Damned DLC" for Grand Theft Auto IV to reach two million downloads by the end of the year. That represents sales over $40 million. Featuring new missions, multiplayer modes, weapons and vehicles, as well as a diverse soundtrack with brand new music, “The Lost and Damned” continues the epic Grand Theft Auto IV story exclusively on Xbox 360 and Xbox Live. Somehow this makes me think that Microsoft is fairly pleased with it's initial investment in Rockstar Games for the exclusive GTA IV downloadable content, sorry Sony fanboys!
“The Lost and Damned” has sold one million so far and eclipsed first-day revenue for all previous downloadable content on Xbox Live, thus setting a new record in the service. “The Lost and Damned” is available for download on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 1600 Microsoft Points and requires the full version of Grand Theft Auto IV for Xbox 360.
Developed by series creator Rockstar North, “Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned” follows new protagonist Johnny Klebitz and his motorcycle gang as they wreak havoc on the streets of Liberty City. “The Lost and Damned” is available for download on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 1600 Microsoft Points and requires the full version of Grand Theft Auto IV for Xbox 360.
Pachter said he expects the second GTA IV episode for Xbox 360 to arrive by November following the close of Take 2 Interactive's fiscal year.
