Splinter Cell Double Agent Gets the Special Edition Treatmentby Nelson Rodriguez
Ubisoft will be sneaking into your pockets in hopes of getting an extra ten dollars for the limited Collector's Edition of the upcoming gritty Sam Fisher romp. Like most pricier editions, this baby will sport an "innovative package design".
I hope "innovative" doesn't just mean shiny and metal, but instead includes some kind of origami spy weapon that you can piece together with glue to unlock doors and sneak-kill evil guards with. I won't get my hopes up. If fancy non-lethal packaging isn't worth $10 to you, here is what else is included in the $70 version of Splinter Cell Double Agent.
– “Covert Ops” documentary focusing on authenticity & realism of the game
– A behind-the-scenes look at the making of the game, courtesy of MTC
– Interview with Michael Ironside, voice actor for Sam Fisher
– Multiplayer tips & tactics
– Seven mini web films
– Game Trailers
– Concept Art Gallery and more
If you just have to get at these bonus items, you can pre-order the collector's edition, before they're all sold out.
Veteran agent Sam Fisher is back. But he’s never faced an enemy like this before. To stop a devastating terrorist attack, he must infiltrate a vicious terrorist group and destroy it from within. For the first time ever, experience the relentless tension and gut-wrenching dilemmas of life as a double agent. As you infiltrate a terrorist organization in its American headquarters, you must carefully weigh the consequences of your actions. Kill too many criminals and you’ll blow your cover. Hesitate too long and millions will die. Do whatever it takes to complete your mission, but get out alive.
