9. Caol Uno – Kickboxing / Wrestling - UFC Record: 2-2-1; Overall Record: 25-11-4 - Having played UFC 2009 for some 50 hours already, it’s apparent that the lightweight division is lacking in big name fighters due to that majority of online players are using B.J. Penn and Sean Sherk almost exclusively. This is why it’s important for THQ to bright forth this UFC veteran, who’s returning after a long hiatus, and let gamers see how explosive he could be and give the division some flavor. His upcoming battle against Spencer Fisher may be one of the card’s best, so here’s to our prayers being answered that we get to see some adrenaline injected into the division that is top heavy in the game.
10. Denis Kang – Boxing / BJJ - UFC Record: 1-1; Overall Record: 32-11-1 - While his debut against Alan Belcher wasn’t as impressive as other battles in his pre-UFC career, Kang still carries a big name with hardcore UFC fans. His addition to UFC 2009 wouldn’t only be needed, but it would be greatly appreciated to casual fans who are finding a hard time picking a middleweight fighter that suites their style. Denis Kang usually brings a well-rounded game that gives his opponents fits, so his addition would be welcomed with open arms by casual and hardcore fans alike.

Outside of those 10 fighters, there are countless other fighters that could see their way into UFC 2009 through download content if THQ deems it important to update the title over the year. Fighters that should be overlooked as downloadable content include: Paulo Thiago for the welterweight division, Matt Hamill and Krzysztof Soszynski for the light-heavyweight division, and Nate Quarry for the middleweight division. If you have any fighters that you’d enjoy playing as in UFC 2009, feel free to voice your opinion in our forums.
