Many rumors were flying around the lobby as we prepared to enter Microsoft's official press conference to kick-off the 2009 E3 Expo; one of the biggest revolved around Mr. Solid Snake. Hideo Kojima just popped up at Microsoft's keynote in style, and announced that the Metal Gear Solid franchise is coming to Xbox 360 with an all-new title.
This game is called Metal Gear Solid Rising, is a completely-new title, and rather than starring Solid Snake, will star the much younger (and badass) Raiden. Now, importantly, he didn't mention the word "exclusive". He just said it was "in development" for the 360. There wasn't much more to tell as of the 2009 E3 Expo press conference but we will keep you updated as soon as we hear more.
"The Metal Gear Solid series is one of the most highly acclaimed video game franchises of all time," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "With Metal Gear Solid: Rising, the Xbox 360 community will finally get a chance to enjoy the action and excitement that this popular franchise is known to offer."
