Contrary to the proclamations of some of the gaming community (like me), evidence is starting to emerge that there might actually be a Gears of War demo coming. The "when" is not even close to being clear, but the evidence can't be ignored.
Xboxic announced today that the UK version of the official Xbox website was sporting a logo for a Gears of War demo. The logo appeared on a section of the site detailing the use of microsoft points to download content from the marketplace.
Though I can't guarantee the link to the site will work indefinitely, you can take a look at it for yourself
here. If you are slow on the draw, I snagged a screenshot of the site myself. This is not a third-hand rumor, but the actual xbox.com screen I captured this morning:
The demo in question could be a pie-in-the-sky hope, or it could be something slated for a post-launch release. On the other hand, it could be a sneaky little deal designed to get people in a weekend frenzy, like the Splinter Cell demo released just days before the game is set to hit stores.
Only time will tell. You may now begin fantasizing.
