Preview Gears of War at Select EB Games This Week

EB Games newsletter subscribers were alerted to an after-hours video preview event being hosted this Saturday at select stores throughout the United States.  You will have to call your local shops to see if any of them is getting in on the action.

On October 21st, lucky gamers will be able to sneak into EB Stores after closing and get a look at some previously unreleased video content of Gears of War.  You'll also get some freebie junk, though I'm not sure if any of it will have anything to do with Gears.

Here is the official word from EB, as reported by Video Game Jocks:

After participating stores close, customers 17 years of age or older will be readmitted for a sneak peek at exclusive video content for Gears of War. Anyone caught with a fake moustache will be sent home immediately, without a glass of milk or cookies. While supplies last, FREE lanyards, pins and gamer id tags will be given to those who attend.

In addition you can purchase either a 3-month or 12-month Xbox Live Kit at $5 OFF the regular price. Stores will only be open one hour for this event. Contact your local EB Games/GameStop to confirm participation and event details.

I, for one, would not let myself get trapped in an EB after closing, since I'm claustrophobic.  I also wouldn't miss my beauty sleep for a trailer video, but a buzzing community of excited gamers could be an uplifting experience.  If anyone finds a local store that is hip to the deal, please let us know how it goes.
