    Go Postal Again

    by Nelson Rodriguez

Afraid that we haven't had enough controversy in the gaming world, Running With Scissors, the creators of the rampage killer game Postal have decided to bring the latest version to the Xbox 360.  Slated for a 2008 release, POSTAL III will once again put you in the role of "Postal Dude", killing people for fun and points.

A semi-popular PC game, back in the long ago time, it has never graced a gaming console.  No word yet on a PS3 version of the new game.

The developers are claiming that the new title will feature an open structure that will allow you to progress in the game without killing.  Sure.  The developer goes on to say,  "I believe POSTAL III will be the sickest and craziest game ever!"

It is pretty obvious that Running With Scissors is just trying to attract a firestorm of press attention.  The first Postal came out in 1997, and it must burn their britches that they no longer get news coverage after sensational murders.

I believe fully in free speech.  I think a society is made more dangerous by restricting expression of ideas.  I just wish that companies wouldn't play directly to the controversy for a quick buck.  It would also be nice if we gamers would get bad reps from games that are at least fun and innovative.

I support their RIGHT to do it, I just hate the sleaze factor.
