Assassin's Creed is likely going to be region free... and what does that mean? You can pick up the Collectors Edition for the same price as the standard edition from
Play-Asia.
Assassin’s Creed is set in 1191 AD, when the Third Crusade was tearing the Holy Land apart. Shrouded in secrecy and feared for their ruthlessness, the Assassins intend to stop the hostilities by suppressing both sides of the conflict. Players, assuming the role of the main character Altair, will have the power to throw their immediate environment into chaos and to shape events during this pivotal moment in history.
Play-Asia is now taking preorders for the Assassin's Creed Collectors Box Set, which includes a 12" Figure of the games main character and of course includes a copy of the game itself. Their price is US$59.90, which is a $20 saving off the regular price of the Collectors edition (which does seem a bit steep at US$79.90). Also depending on what part of the world you live in, shipping may push the price up quite a bit.
Region free means that although the game is branded to only work in Asian region consoles, it will work in all Xbox 360's, regardless of region.
