Capcom announced today that Resident Evil 5 shipments has passed the five million mark worldwide, setting a new record for shipments in the “Resident Evil” series. The sales of Resident Evil 5 helped Capcom, which reported today financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, achieve favorable results in general and especially in overseas markets.
Capcom announced that net sales increased to ¥19,49 million (up 19.2% from the same period a year earlier), operating income increased to ¥3,66 million (up 23 % from the same quarter a year before), ordinary income increased to ¥4,11 million (up 2.3% from the same period a year earlier), net income increased to ¥2,23 million (up 6.4% from the 1st quarter of fiscal year 2008).
