    Missing Characters/Features of Arkham Asylum

    by Dakota Grabowski

5 Gameplay Changes/Additions for Batman: AA Sequel:

    1. Camera Tweaks - This is an absolute must since there were far too many times when the camera would zoom too far in and remove the full view of the area when entering a battle. It is a little adjustment, but its refinement would go a long way for the improvement of the sequel.

    2. All-New Gadgets - Batman had a wide assortment of wily gadgets at his disposal in Batman: AA, but there could always be room for more. The next time around, Rocksteady should incorporate smoke pellets, flash-bang/stun grenades, thermite grenades, darts and flamethrower. Of these five proposed additions, two of them (flamethrower and thermite grenades) deal with the idea of fighting and the disposing of Mr. Freeze. The other three would allow for more options when in combat with the henchman that stands in the way of Batman and the super-criminals.

    3. Destructible Environments - If there’s one area of the graphics that could use an overhauling, it would be the capability of ripping apart the environment as Batman battles countless thugs sent before him. Even if it’s the only graphical improvement, destroying the scenery and objects in the way of The Dark Knight would go a long way to the longevity of the sequel. Speaking about destroying objects in the next Batman video game.

    4. Destructible Lights - The lights need to be destructible to further the detective work of The Dark Knight. Being able to eliminate light sources in the area, players would be able to stalk their targets much easier and present a whole new gameplay aspect to the series to make the most of the dark.

    5. Vehicles - One of the following must be accessible: Batcycle, Batmobile, or Batplane. Even if one of these vehicles is available for only for one or two segments, it’s a guarantee that gamers would remember every second they spent in them. Driving the Batmobile is probably on the top of every fan of Batman’s wish list for a drivable car in real life or in fiction. So Rocksteady Studios, what say you? Will you provide gamers a chance at drivable vehicles the next time around, even if they are limited to a few moments?
