    Marvel: Ultimate Alliance Review

    by Eric Bush

Marvel rival DC-Comics have a similar type game using their flagship heroes coming up soon and if it is anything like this game we have two winners on our hands.  Marvel: Ultimate Alliance does a lot of things right and only a few things wrong.  The storyline and gameplay mechanics are superb and help take a dying genre and give it new life.  Throw in the new online and offline multiplayer modes and the short single player mode is resurrected with hours of co-op or vs. play.  Considering there are 25 characters to actually control and over 150 characters that you get to interact with throughout the game I doubt anyone will be able to say that Raven Software and Activision skimped us on the Marvel license.  The new graphical look of the game really drew me in and made me want to see the next level, unfortunately the almost perfect audio part of Ultimate Alliance was drawn short by the un-inspiring musical score.  Some other small problems with the visuals did not take away from what I saw as a very polished overall experience, one that should be rented, if not added to your collection as soon as possible.  P.S. Just for the curious my dream team consisted of: Wolverine (ultimate outfit), Deadpool (ultimate outfit), Spider-Man (black outfit), and Colossus (classic outfit).
