The Seatle Times has reported that Microsoft today announced that Shane Kim, Xbox Vice President for Strategy and Business Development, is retiring after 19 years of work at the company. He will remain on throughout the remainder of the year, helping assist Microsoft with the transition for his departure. Previous to his current position, Shane Kim was head of Microsoft Game Studios until last year, which Phil Spencer, the studio's European manager, then took over. Spencer will be promoted to the Xbox Vice President position once Kim leaves the position.
