There always has to be a good audio setup to compliment a great graphical setup and Ubisoft has thrown one of those in as well.
The creaking of your footsteps across broken glass will make your hair stand up because it might alert that guard over there.
Sam Fisher’s voice acting is also better than it has been done in previous versions of the series.
I told you before about how the graphics department did a good job of making you feel like you were there, well that is thanks a lot in part to how well the audio programmers did.
Birds chirping, men arguing, cars speeding, fireworks exploding, all of these are noises you will hear throughout the game as ambient audio.
If you put these two aspects of the game hand in hand they make up for one amazing experience for the gamer.
Not only does it show off the power of the Xbox 360 but also it makes the game more fun to play, and does a great job of making me care about the world revolving around Sam Fisher in front of me on my television.
Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Double Agent is the best Sam Fisher game to date and we are lucky to have the next game in the series exclusive to the Xbox 360. The single-player experience is worth this game by itself but throw in the multi-player mode and you have yourself a candidate for game of the year. With a graphical presentation that is hard to find in any game out there and a solid audio showing Splinter Cell: Double Agent is the game to be playing right now, offline and online. The option to make choices (good or bad) that will effect the outcome of the game is also a nice new feature that throws a new wrench in the old school Splinter Cell gears. Considering what games Ubisoft has brought us so far and what they have in store (Rainbow Six: Vegas) it is becoming very clear that they are becoming the powerhouse developer for the Xbox 360. If you read this entire review, and still have not gone out and bought this game, I seriously advise you to do that right now without wasting anymore time. That’s an order agent Fisher.
