That’s right, 2010 is turning out to be a year that will steal hundreds upon hundreds of hours from gamers. So it’s time to invest our concentration on the role-playing games of 2010. The RPG genre on the Xbox 360 has surpassed what the original Xbox served up, so expectations continue to rise. Will 2010 turn out to be better than 2009? We can only cross our fingers with the line-up detailed below so don’t get mad if this game or that game doesn’t ship on the projected release date. Even so each and every one of the seven games below should be purchased if you are, in any form or fashion, into role-playing games. A List of the Top Seven RPGs Coming in 2010 (in order of release):
Mass Effect 2 – January 26:
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: Bioware

Starting off the 2010, Bioware and Electronic Arts have Mass Effect 2 on the schedule exclusively for the Xbox 360. Upgrading the combat system and bringing back Captain Shepard, Mass Effect 2 is shaping up to be one of the year’s best titles and it’s coming very early so gamers don’t need to have patience. Players who have enjoyed the experiences that were provided in the original Mass Effect will be able to transfer their game saves over from the original into the sequel. With new alien races to interact with and a new vehicle to drive, Mass Effect 2 will be turning heads soon enough.
Final Fantasy XIII – Spring 2010:
Publisher: Square Enix
Developer: Square Enix

Gamers won’t have to wait too much longer as Square Enix is finally delivering the goods with Final Fantasy XIII. Debuting at E3 2006, it has been an extensive development time for Square Enix’s first non-MMO Final Fantasy title on the current generation of consoles (FFXIII will also be releasing on the PS3). While PS3 fans will have the ability to import the title from Japan later this winter, Xbox 360 owners will have to wait until spring 2010 to get their first taste of this highly anticipated title. Remarkable graphics, an epic storyline and unique characters help set this Japanese role-playing game apart from any other titles releasing in 2010.
