A recent posting on job networking site LinkedIn has revealed that the unannounced sequel to Visceral Games' meag-hit Dead Space could bring online multiplayer to the survival horror franchise. The listing is looking for a "Senior Online Level Designer for the Dead Space series on Xbox360 and PS3." While it is not yet revealed what specific kind of online play the new employee will be crafting - we have to image it's either cooperative or competitive.
Either way this rumor is amazing news, Dead Space was easily one of our favorite games of last year and more features for the sequel can only mean good things. At this time only the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms are mentioned; still a Dead Space 2 has yet to be formally announced, though its existence has been previously revealed by other job listings and statements by various EA financial figures. We will keep you updated if hear more or get an official reply from the folks at EA.
