Grapevine, TX - November 20, 2009 - GameStop, the world’s largest video game and entertainment software retailer, today announced it will host the world’s largest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Tournament. On Friday, Nov. 20, more than 2,900 U.S. GameStop locations will kick off the player vs. player tournament in-stores on the Xbox 360. Round 2 will be held via Xbox Live, powered by gamebattles.com/gamestop. Players will be competing for a trip to the finals event for bragging rights and a $5,000 grand prize.
The International, online multiplayer tournament will also begin Friday, Nov. 20, on gamebattles.com/gamestop. The tournaments will be played on both Xbox 360 via Xbox Live and PS3 via PSN to determine who will qualify for the semi-finals. The top four teams from each platform will advance to the finals events to battle for their respective grand prize of $10,000.
