Superman Returns: The Demo Has Landed

Fly over to the Xbox Live Marketplace to download the nearly 1GB large demo for Superman Returns: The Game.  The trial lets you roam around a few islands near metropolis, and get a feel for being super.

The demo partially gave me the sense of being in Second Life.  It is an open world, with somewhat dull graphics.  It also seems closely modeled on games like Ultimate Spiderman.  Pretending to be a superhero has been a dream since childhood, but Ultimate Spiderman on the Xbox pulls off the feeling much more effectively.  The demo missions are repetitive and the mechanics are not as smooth as what Treyarch accomplished with Spidey's webslinging.

A demo can't tell you the whole story of a game, but I'm still wary.  Download the demo and decide for yourself.
