Call of Duty 3 Reviewby Eric Bush
If Treyarch took the COD2 soundtrack and laid it over the game that is now called Call of Duty 3 to be honest I’m not sure if I would even know. It sounds good in 5.1 but there is nothing new here and it doesn’t pull you in audibly like some of the other titles out there on the market. Bullets whiz by your head, the voice acting is sub-par, and engine sounds still sound like lawnmowers, but overall it’s a decent soundtrack that doesn’t add or take away anything from the game.
Call of Duty 3 is easily a huge step in the right direction from COD2 though, that’s not even a question. The single player campaign is long and interesting and the multiplayer rounds out a title that is most definitely worth your 60 dollars. The addition of two new armies as well as vehicles and the multiplayer “class system” polish off the full package. A so-so audio soundtrack and some other small gripes (nothing that revolutionary) as well as this, still at the end of the day, just being another Call of Duty game keeps it from reaching near perfect review status. Don’t take this as a knock down punch though because this game is still a great purchase and if you’re a fan of the series it’s a must buy, no questions asked.
