It's that time of the year (no more major releases are hitting) where each website announces their Game of the Year winners, after weeks of arguing and fighting we finally came up with a list that we think represents the entire year of 2009 gaming on the Xbox 360 system. Sports Game of the Year: FIFA Soccer 10 - It is evident EA Canada’s time was well spent on the intricacies of being a manager. In the past, it was more of a throw-in feature that didn’t receive a lot of attention, but FIFA Soccer 10 finally brings the series up to speed with an entertaining franchise mode. It’s lifelike and much better than what gamers have come to expect from the FIFA series. With over 500 teams – and not to mention 41 national teams – it should be easy for a gamer to find a team worthy of his or her skill level. If gamers know what’s best for them, they’d pick up FIFA Soccer 10 the first chance they get; it's easily the best soccer game on the Xbox 360.
Role-Playing Game of the Year: Dragon Age: Origins - Dragon Age: Origins can’t boast the decadent array of options witnessed in Bethesda’s RPGs, nor does it limit you to the ‘orphan with a single path to greatness’ approach made famous by Square Enix. Like the Pulp Fiction of high-fantasy, Dragon Age: Origins is an innovative homage to the greatest works of the genre, woven together with masterful dialogue and an acute sense of social interaction. In terms of storytelling and creating true emotional bonds, Dragon Age: Origins is one of the finest RPGs ever created.
