The so-called "Javelin" glitch that has been plaguing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer matches is about to meet its match. Earlier today, Robert Bowling, creative strategist for the game at developer Infinity Ward, posted to his Twitter feed that the patch to fix the exploit (and, reportedly, a few other MW2 glitches) had passed Microsoft's certification process, saying that Microsoft only needed to "push it live."
Update: The patch is now online and should update automatically when logging into Xbox LIVE via the Modern Warfare 2 menu, have fun (cheat free).
Apparently, that "push" will be just hours away at this writing. Larry Hryb—Xbox Live's director of programming, but more likely better known as Microsoft's "Major Nelson"—posted to his Twitter feed that the title update containing the fixes "will go live early Friday morning." Though Microsoft doesn't usually pin down the time that these kinds of data will be publicly available, history has shown that they often become downloadable to players via Xbox Live at around 2am Pacific Time.
