Bungie unveiled their official Halo: Reach webpage today on Xbox.com, in anticipation of the Saturday night premiere of the title's first in-game footage during the 2009 Spike VGAs. Many people close to Microsoft have been touting Halo: Reach as a huge leap in gaming, and being something that will amaze gamers once they get to see it in action. In a conversation with Major Nelson this week during the official podcast, Gametrailers' Geoff Keighley had the following to say:
“It’s going to be the biggest game of next year by far. Folks loved ODST and thought it was great, but when people see the huge leap forward Bungie is taking with Reach – everyone I’ve talked to that’s been on the team and seen it is incredibly excited about that game.”
With 2009 nearly finished and a huge year for gaming on the horizon, it should perhaps come as no surprise that Microsoft product management director Aaron Greenberg is staking his claim early. Speaking with Gamasutra, he said Halo Reach will be "the biggest game of 2010."
Halo: Reach is scheduled for a Fall 2010 release, and a multiplayer beta will occur sometime in the spring for purchasers of Halo: ODST.
