2. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 – March 2, 2010 - Some may argue that the “modern” approach of war-themed first-person shooters is becoming a little redundant, but Electronic Arts and EA Digital Illusions are hoping to cash in with Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The Frostbite Engine is being used to almost its full capabilities for the Xbox 360 and gamers should have a pleasing time blowing up buildings from the confines of a tank. In Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the ‘B’ company fight their way through snowy mountaintops, dense jungles and dusty villages. With a heavy arsenal of deadly weapons and a slew of vehicles to aid them, the crew set off on their mission and they are ready to blow up, shoot down, blast through, wipe out and utterly destroy anything that gets in their way. Total destruction is the name of the game, delivered as only the DICE next generation Frostbite™ engine can. Either online or offline, enemies will soon learn there is nowhere to hide.
1. Bayonetta – January 5, 2010 - If there’s one game to look out for in 2010, it would have to be Sega’s Bayonetta; an action game with a lot of glitz and glamour. Playing as a witch who can shapeshift and use her hair as a weapon, Bayonetta is one of the most intriguing games to release in the past five years. It has enough style to cover for all the games released in the first half of the year for the Xbox 360. The demo recently hit Xbox Live, so if you haven’t already, treat yourself to a quick download and see what all the fuss is about for yourself. A witch with powers beyond the comprehension of mere mortals, Bayonetta faces-off against countless angelic enemies, many reaching epic proportions, in a game of 100% pure, unadulterated all-out action. Outlandish finishing moves are performed with balletic grace as Bayonetta flows from one fight to another. With magnificent over-the-top action taking place in stages that are a veritable theme park of exciting attractions, Bayonetta pushes the limits of the action genre, bringing to life its fast-paced, dynamic climax combat.
