Capcom Delays Games to Late 2010 Because of Competition
by Eric Bush
GamesIndustry.biz is reporting that Capcom has announced a delay of several major titles from the first quarter of 2010, citing higher than expected competition in the first part of the year. The biggest victims of the delay are Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2, and Super Street Figher IV is also expected to release later than originally expected. It's likely that these are not the last delays for highly anticipated Xbox 360 titles in the first half of this year, as the release calendar for early 2010 has become progressively more crowded as publishers moved high profile titles out of Modern Warfare 2's release last Holiday season; Max Payne 3 was delayed as well until summer of this year by publisher Rockstar Games. Capcom has also lowered its forecast expectations for their upcoming title Dark Void, from expected cross-platform sales of 1.3 million units to a very modest 600 thousand worldwide units. Dark Void releases on January 12, 2010 for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
