There is no denying that Modern Warfare 2, from publishing giant Activision, is the top shooter on the video game market; apparently EA’s European boss, Jen Uwe Inat, is looking to change that with DICE's Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and the “first blow” is the game’s launch on March 2nd and 5th in the United States and Europe, respectively.
"In March we will launch Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which is our first strong attack on Call Of Duty," EA Europe boss Jens Uwe told MCV Magazine. "The shooter space is one we don't want to give up. It's an important genre and we were the number one. So we are certainly working on how we can get that crown back and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is an important product in that context."
Earlier this month we heard a story about a member of the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 development team being asked to "stop playing Modern Warfare 2" at a public gaming event in late 2009, seems like this battle of the FPS started long before this statement by EA.
