I wrote that the Xbox 360 (click here) seems to be a daunting console that really stands the chance of proving itself, at least for the time being, as future-proof. However, this doesn’t mean that eventually, Microsoft is going to decide that a new console is just what the gaming industry needs. When they finally do get around to it, one can only hope that they do what they can to once again get feedback from the gaming community as a whole. After all, no gamer likes to be told what they want and here’s hoping Microsoft takes the cues to create yet another relatively kick ass console in the Xbox 720. Below is a list of the things I think the Xbox 720 must include in it's feature-set from day one, to be successful in the video games industry.
More USB ports: Believe it or not, USB 3.0 is quickly becoming available to the thankful masses and you know what that means? Faster data transfers than ever. If Microsoft truly wants their system to be the dominant multimedia platform they will make the exception for a few more USB ports allowing for more connections to truly make it a digital centerpiece.

Full Backwards Compatibility: A cold, hard fact of the gaming community is that many gamers like to keep the games they purchase. Eventually, they amass a collection that rivals the amount of keepsakes your grandmother has in her home. Unfortunately, while this may not impress all the girls you bring home, it is always awesome to be able to play an original title on the console it was created for two consoles generations prior. Yeah, I suppose it may be a bit demanding I be able to play the original Fable day one on my Xbox 720 because odds are I’ll be playing Gears of War 4. Barring that, I should be able to download a game because Microsoft will have…
Complete Games on Demand Library Day One: Tell me this isn’t a great idea. The ability to download any game you want via Xbox Live is cool enough, but it is slowly evolving. What better way to cement the Xbox 720 into the gaming community than by making available every previous Xbox, Xbox 360, Indie and Arcade title on live day one? Not only would this get people migrating over to the new, updated Xbox Live, but by discounting all the games ridiculously so for the first two weeks the 720 is on sale, I’m sure more than one retailer would sell out of the console.
