Michael Pachter has voiced the belief that Epic Games “regrets” signing an exclusivity deal with Microsoft on the Gears of War franchise as well as other games. Speaking with Geoff Keighley during the latest Bonus Round edition on Game Trailers TV, Pachter feels the developers “can’t wait” to go multi-platform. From talking to a bunch of people at Epic, personally, I tend to disagree with Mr. Pachter's ridiculous opinion - the Xbox 360 is currently the best place to sell a piece of software, and that is exactly where Epic wants to be.
If Michael Pacter would like to discuss his opinion I beg him to e-mail me and set something up, sometimes this idiot just gets on my nerves. He went on to say: “I think the Epic guys can’t wait until they can start doing multiplatform games,” citing that it no longer makes sense for publishers to release on a single platform. “I think that Microsoft has a contract to make sure that they get that sequel, but I think Epic regrets signing that contract,’ he added. “You’re up to 11 million PS3 in the US and probably a similar number in Europe, and you’ve got a 20 million addressable market with a game like Gears of War."
“I mean, that thing would easily sell 3 or 4 million on the PS3 and that’s a lot of profit.” Epic has remained quite about what to expect from the company in the future, let alone when we’ll get a new Gears game on the Xbox 360. However, Cliff Bleszinski stated earlier in the month that there is “a bunch of awesome shit” that its working on and to expect reveals when the weather warms up - which I'm guessing will be right around E3 2010 (mid-June). Sorry Pachter the Clown, the evidence I'm looking at says you're so wrong, better luck next time.
