Superman Returns DVD Includes Cheat Codeby Nelson Rodriguez
When you pick up a copy of Superman Returns: The Movie, released today by Warner Home Video, you'll bag yourself one of those much-debated cheat codes for EA's game adaptation. The movie is available today in any flavor of disc you want; DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. (I'm sure Warner wishes we weren't in the middle of a format transition.)
The cheat lets you play as Bizarro for as long as you would like. All you have to do is enter the code and fly to the top of the GNN building, where you will change into Superman's twisted clone. You can wreck shop, and fly around harassing people. When you change your mind, just head back to a threat indicator to become the Man of Steel, once more.
If every DVD contains the same cheat code, this should be readily available on the internet by the end of the day. Electronic Arts seems to have an entire team dedicated to cheat code strategy, but this is the most appealing attempt so far.
Buying a Superman Returns DVD just for the one cheat would make it the most expensive single unlockable in history, but I can't imagine there is even one person on the planet who would do that. Using a cheat as a marketing bonus included with the sale of other content seems a lot more consumer friendly than recent efforts by EA.
