The masses who thought Mass Effect 2 was one of the best video games that could ever be created are in for a shocker (me included) from it's developer. Speaking in an interview to CVG, Bioware's co-founder Ray Muzyka said the studio hasn’t hit the top of it's game just yet. This seems like an insane statement as there is no question that Mass Effect 2 was the company's best work to date, where can they go from here?
“If it wasn’t difficult it wouldn’t be worth while. Our best work is still ahead of us,” Muzyka said. “That’s why I’m doing it, because I think our best work is still ahead of us and that’s why our teams are doing it, I think.”
Last week, Mass Effect 2 was released to great acclaim, and became the fourth best-scoring Xbox 360 title on MetaCritic, with an average score of 96. It was certainly worth it for the developer in a financial sense as the RPG sequel went on to sell 2 million units during its first four days on sale. Already, though, Mass Effect 3 is in pre-development and BioWare has stressed this several times, with project director Casey Hudson saying the trilogy will wrap up on this generation of consoles. Muzyka recently revealed that some new BioWare projects will be shown-off at E3 2010 this June, PlanetXbox360.com will be on the show floor to bring you the breaking news as it's revealed.
