With SEGA's recent release of Aliens vs. Predator on the Xbox 360 reaching the top of the UK all-formats Software Sales Chart last week and a possible sequel in the works, all things are looking good for SEGA and developer Rebellion, despite a number of poor reviews and less than stellar sales over here in the US.
Even so, it seems SEGA are not phased by this and are in fact encouraged by the game's commercial success. Speaking in a recent interview with Develop, Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley revealed: "We're also in discussions with SEGA about ongoing support for AvP (online issues, DLC, bug fixes, etc.), and also about a sequel to the game." This is great news for fans and obviously great news for Rebellion who has had neither the best luck critically with AvP or it's past attempt by the name of Rogue Warrior. All in all I think Aliens vs. Predator had some good things going for it, and this supposed "sequel" could end up flushing out a lot of the issues the first title had, and becoming the Aliens video game we all dreamed of. Stay tuned for more on this story as it develops, until further confirmation go ahead and mark everything up as a rumor.
