HDMI as Standard on All Xbox 360s?

Could Microsoft be planning to quietly launch versions of the Core and Premium Xbox 360's with HDMI ports as standard later this year? Some people think so...

After being told, while testing the Halo 3 edition Xbox 360 at E3, that "HDMI will probably be standard moving forward," Arstechnica decided to look a little further into exactly what that meant, and apparently it might mean that the days of non-HDMI-equipped Xbox 360s are numbered.

They have a source who says that Microsoft want to get rid of all their existing hardware inventory quickly and then launch new, HDMI-enabled, versions of the Core and Premium consoles as early as later this month or in September! They also say that the new consoles should feature the 65nm process for the CPU and also quieter DVD drives.

It is also noted that Microsoft could be including the fixes for the heating issues into these new consoles... thereby bundling all the required fixes and updates into one neat, new machine.
