SAN DIEGO - April 25, 2008 - Mad Catz Interactive, Inc. (AMEX/TSX: MCZ), a leading third-party interactive entertainment accessory provider, announced today that Thomas R. Brown, 57, has been appointed non-executive Chairman of its Board of Directors. The role of Chairman has been vacant since March 2008 when former Chairman, Geofrey Myers, passed away.
Mr. Brown has served as an independent, non-executive member of the Company’s Board since 2006. Mad Catz’ Board of Directors is comprised of five members, four of whom are considered independent under the corporate governance standards of the American Stock Exchange.

Thomas Brown has more than 30 years of senior level operational and financial experience. Currently President and Chief Executive Officer of American Technology Corporation (NASDAQ: ATCO), he spent over 16 years with Sony Electronics, where his various senior positions included serving as Executive Vice President and Deputy President with responsibility for supply chain operations, including information technology, procurement, North American manufacturing operations and finance, logistics and customer service. Prior to joining Sony Electronics, Mr. Brown was Chief Financial Officer at Food Concepts, Inc. and was a Senior Manager at Price Waterhouse (now known as PriceWaterhouseCoopers). Mr. Brown has served as a board member for the San Diego Regional Development Corporation, American Glass Video Company and Qualcomm Personal Electronics. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Rutgers University and is a certified public accountant.
