Meet Your Doom Today

The ultra-classic first person shooter that has touched the lives of nearly every gamer has finally been announced as the big Xbox Live Arcade game, and is due to hit your console today.  I have been checking all morning, to confirm this tidbit for you, and it is not yet available for download, but you'll be blasting your way through the game by some time tonight.

The full purchase of the 360 version of the original Doom will cost you 800 microsoft points, and promises slightly enhanced graphics, plus co-op and Live play.  I'm very curious to see how it holds up after 13 years, when compared to all the games that it has inspired.

Doom is considered by some to be the #1 game of all time.  I never got my hands on the early title, though I was introduced to a game, built on the Doom engine, where you walk around killing aliens disguised as U.S. Senators.  Talk about controversial.
